Study Tour in Canada
In July, students from Anqing Foreign Language School traveled thousands of miles to beautiful Canada. The study tour consisted of three parts, namely, eastern Canada tour, Bark Lake outdoor summer camp extension training and Columbia College studying. The four-day eastern Canada tour has already perfectly ended.
To start with, the Parliament House in Parliament Hill, an ancient Gothic building, overlooked the Ottawa River at the top of the hill. The quiet park made the children sit down and rest. The eternal flame before the Parliament House was an inheritance and a continuation of history.
Next in the Aviation Museum, our children had a deep understanding towards the history of airplanes as well as the exploration, research and practice conducted by human beings. What’s more, they were extremely happy, experiencing being pilots themselves.
The Crystal Waterfalls(Montessori Falls) is to the west of Quebec City, Canada. The waterfall, though not very large, is running down into the mighty St. Lawrence River. The falls are 83 meters tall, one and a half times greater than Niagara Fall. Therefore, she is named the highest waterfall in Quebec and one of the three greatest waterfalls in America. She gains her name for her crystal-like beauty, frozen in winter.
Furthermore, overlooking Montreal from Mount Royal Park, we got a panoramic view of the city despite that it was over 8 P.M. The City Hall in Montreal is a kind of eclectic mix of baroque and French architectural elements, other known as the baroque revival architecture. Sanding opposite it, you’ll be fully attracted by the sculptures on the outside wall. Besides, each building on the street was different in styles, yet integrating in harmony. More remarkably, the Ferris wheel is probably the children’s favorite.
Last but not the least, more than a thousand islands scattered all over thousands of blue waves. Sitting on a cruise ship, we marveled at the power and beauty of nature while falling for the ancient fortresses. Owing to the tour guide’s interpretation, I was fortunate enough to be able to capture the world’s shortest boundary bridge between Canada and the United States.
